Conservatives ‘get out the vote’ for the European Elections with iPlatform

At the beginning of June was the European elections, and the Conservative party used our Status Donation application to run a week-long ‘Get out the vote’ campaign in Facebook. Conservative supporters could install the app, which then allowed the Conservative party to send 3 messages through their supporters Facebook Statuses. By doing this, the Conservative party was able to reach all of their users’ friends with high-trust messages. Despite only being a short one-week campaign, almost four and a half thousand supporters used the application. Facebook report that the average user has 120 friend connections on the site, giving a potential reach for the campaign of 540,000 people.

The app was a great success - and by the results, obviously worked! (although we don’t claim to take all the credit)
